When the fish strikes your artificial or natural bait, the pin releases from the molded pin hole at the bottom of the flasher. The flasher is released but stays on the main line & is driven to the surface by the fighting fish - allowing you to fight the fish not the flasher: also allowing you to put more fish in your boat because you can keep a tight line on your fish all the time! Jim's Break-A-Way Flasher is used for all species of salmon: Chinook (or King) salmon, pink salmon, silver (coho) salmon, chum salmon, sockeye salmon; and also stippers, walleye, lake trout, halibut, makinaw & other lake trout.
